Learning with John Davis.

John Davis had to kill some time in east london on sunday and called in for tea and biccys'.He had his Emmons with him so dragged it up three floors to my flat to meet my Emmons. My S10 (black) was owned by John some 20 odd years ago. We then spent about seven hours shooting the breeze intersperced with John showing me some real good stuff to learn. I'm very much a beginner on pedal steel,although I do play six string spanish guitar.To me this was a masterclass on pedal steel. I would say to any newbies who are near enough to get some time one2one with John. His teaching style is very laid back, patient, and he'll answer all those stupid things you never want to admit to. John also gave me instruction on how to use Band-in -a-Box, something I just could'nt get my head round. Now I've got loads of good things to practice and some nice backing tracks on B-in-B. If you do get to sit down with John Davis be warned! you will learn some great stuff but---- Hide the jammy dodgers----- ,Baz.
