Mind your own buisness.

Tue Nov 05, 2013 6:14 pm

Go on, have a go, it's not that hard, and it's fun.
Exercise to get into the C6th neck by jiving around to a well known tune.
1st 2nd verse play, 3rd verse back off and accompany lead instrument.
4th and 5th verse steel, 6th verse back up lead, 7th verse steel, 8th verse steel to end.
be aware your intro at beginning of 5th and 8th verse. Go for it, enjoy, get into running around the neck.

That was first class.

I like your style of presentation, both in person and on the guitar.

Could we have some more please.

I try a little B6 on the Uni.

Regards.

Watch Derrick in the clip above and you can see what I've been banging on about for years. C6th is NOT hard work! He does some really musical things here by pushing the bar around without messing up the tuning by pushing pedals. This stuff really does link up to non-pedal and other 6th based tunings, including B6th Uni.
Good job Derrick. Tone :guitar: :guitar:

Thanks guy's for the nice remarks, lets hope it gets one ore two of our friends interested and having a go at the back neck.
If the newby's to the C6th go for it, let us know how you are getting on, and if interested we can try one or two more, and dont forget, the inversions are endless, and you can invent as you get better, and I'm in there with you.

Hi Derrick, just a line to say, once again, thanks for taking the time and trouble to pass on some more knowledge. You're laid back style and simple explanations are both informative, and indeed, very relaxing. You cut through the stress and mystery of the instrument without complex terminology and gobbledegook. Unfortunately my Lloyd Green doesn't have a back neck, but if anyone takes the trouble to view the JD session on 12 bar blues, this is not a problem as the jazzy sounds are still there by lowering the E's. Well done John, and nicely put, and as I said on my video, I will get the help of my friend's to show me the use of the other 5 pedals, but after watching you, I think I will forgo that pleasure for a while, looks complicated, and I would be looking at my feet all the time.
If I live long enough I may get back to you on the pedal thing, and no, you cant have my redundant pedals.

Don't worry John, but my guy's ar'nt ready for pedals just yet, :o they are in need of learning to get round the neck without any side tracking, and once they get confident enough then if the interest is there they will be coming after you, then it's your job to continue the lessons, you'll wish you'd never put the last lesson up,Ha,Ha. :guitar:
