For those that can sing and play,or just need a mic

Over the years I have tried various mic stands but none have I found that were really compatible with pedal steel, the mic was never quite in the right place and it needed sandbags on the base to stop it tipping over. Not that I needed a mic for singing as previously stated I have been sacked from bands for singing but if I am playing with my tracks nice to be able to introduce the next song in case the punters did not recognize it from my incompetent playing so, needs must ..... here is my latest contraption, if you study the pics just two angled folds on a sheet of 2mm aluminium and its as solid as a rock, the more weight the tighter the fit and you just have to lift it about 2 inches to release it.
on the other end of my Emmon's I have another of similar design that serves as a table, it can easily support two pints or a small mixer
