Problems with the site?

Postby SHAKEY » Tue Feb 22, 2011 5:51 pm

Is anyone having problems with this site. Everything has shrunk so small I can't read anything. I'm even having trouble reading what I am writing. Everything else on my computer is normal. Anyone got any ideas?? If so you may have to email me at [email protected] as I doubt if I'd be able to read it on here.
Cheers Dave.

Email sent!

There's nothing wrong with the site, all I can think of is that your browser's zoom factor has been set very low.
If that's the case, you can use the magnification at the bottom right to restore it to 100%, or the drop-down menu View-->Zoom-->100%.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Mark & Henry, I don't know how I manages to shrink it but the CTRL+0 did the trick.
Thanks again for your time.
Dave.

Oops, forgot about CTRL-0, that's much easier :D

you probably shrunk it by pressing ctrl and scrolling backwards with the mousewheel at the same time. i do that the whole time. it's quite useful for zooming in and out.

glad you got it sorted :)

I have had a small problem, every time I tried to log on I was told I'd acceeded the amount of times you are
allowed to log on which was strange as it would be the initial try, however, this time I had the same thing but
a sort of type in the words in the box which I did and have successfully got onto the sites, anybody else had the
same thing ?
Still, back on now, all the best

Yes Frank, this is the fourth time for me to try and log in, same issue. Exceeded number of tries, then presented with two words in a box, and this works. perhaps our IT boys can resolve this issue.
I may be wrong, but one suggestion put to me yesterday:- someone who may know your login name but does not know your password trying to gain unauthorised access to this site, and making several tries/guesses at your password, may cause this to happen. Hopefully this can be easily sorted out. Jim. :(

As far as I know there aren't any problems with the site. These kind of things tend to be local (i.e. your computer), cookie related issues. It is possible someone has been trying to log in as you, but to be honest this is unlikely. The CAPTCHA is just an additional security layer to make it harder for automated attempts at logins.

Log-in issue resolved :) . Deleted all....temp int. files/cookies etc. & defrag.
Thank you Arcada. Sometimes it's the obvious, simple things that we overlook. All's well now, the CAPTCHA link makes for interesting reading. Jim. :D

Glad you got it sorted! The defrag won't have made any difference as far as this issue was concerned, but you're PC will probably be running better now, anyway :)
