Well, my past history is that I've wasted thirty-odd years not playing psg, but finally took the plunge about four years ago and am enjoying that love/hate, elation/desperation that all beginners must feel. The upside is that I discovered BSS and am dead chuffed that there are so many steel players over here ( I'd always thought it was an American thing by a long chalk ),so a belated Hello to everyone. At the moment I'm torturing a Carter d10 though a Nashville 112 and am based in Hackney , east London where I play in a covers band called The Drawbacks . If there's anyone in the neighbourhood ,give me a shout. Cheers, Andy.
Hi Henry, thank you kindly for your words of welcome . I have to admit to using the back neck to lean on but will get round to exploring it one day, honest. The band does a fairly eclectic mix of songs ,from Alison Krauss to the Grateful Dead via Bob Wills and Hank and even a couple of trad. Irish tunes-maybe start saving for a Dobro! Do you gig in the Brixton area,, it would be good to see some live steel playing? Cheers, Andy.
yeah I've been thinking Dobros too but so much to do and so little time (and money!).
sounds like a good set list let me know when you're playing.. what's the band called?
My next gig is with Mad Staring Eyes in Nambucca (Archway) at the Country Soul Sessions on the 20th April. It's an all day thing and some good bands playing https://www.facebook.com/events/623362851012272/
