BIAB Alternative

Sat Aug 23, 2014 7:01 pm

My friend, Derek Evans introduced me to BIAB and I think it's a very powerful tool. I have a Windows PC at home and an iPad and I searched for a similar App for the iPad and I came across iReal Pro. Compared to BIAB it is very cheap, £4.50 for the basic App, into which you can download hundreds of free files from the included Forum. Add-ons are also purchasable for additional Instruments, Beats and Styles, costing around £3.00 to £6.00 each. The included groups of programme files are: Latin, Rock, Jazz and Country and from what I've seen they are quite good for practising with. You are able to edit any of the downloaded files, changing styles, Keys, Tempo, and also write your own files by inputting the chord names, same as BIAB.
As the iPad is ultra portable you can carry it anywhere and input your inspirations.
Hope this has been useful to other Steelies.
Keith.
