JEM box

Postby Peter Spode » Tue Nov 08, 2011 4:14 pm

Does anyone have an old impedance matching JEM box .These were for sale about 25 odd years ago from the BSS. I would really like to get hold of one again.

The 2 people involved were Jim Moore and Roy Heap.

Now there's a name I ain't heard for a long time, Jim Moore, met him a few times at Newbury ,a dapper
little fellow if I remember right with a spiv -type moustache but a great guy to deal with 8-) , I recall buying a
ShoBud LDG from him ,he said it was shop soiled so I had it for 600 quid, when it arrived the only "soiled"
bit was a slight mark on the case ! A good sort ! :D
All the best

I had one of those, it was actually quite good , like everything else, you always regret flogging things after the event , I
expect they must be quite rare these days . 8-)

I don't know the JEM box, but if you just want a buffer to present a high impedance to your PSG, and output a low impedance so that you don't loose anything running a long cable to your amp, you might also like to try an MXR/CAE 401 pedal.

FWIW some of the PSG volume pedals you can buy include a buffer that will sort out impedances for you.

hope you find what you want
