Notation transcription Software?

I am looking for notation transcription software preferablyfree. Does anyone have experience with this type of software e.g. Musescore which is NOT free but you get 7 days trial. Is it worth the money?

Table Edit is a very good package but alas it is not free.

Musescore is free to use & write your own scores.
However I don't think it lends itself to PSG Tab, at least I have never been able to get it get it to work with 10 strings so far. Maybe I'm missing something? (If anyone knows how please advise).

I have found Tabledit reasonably easy to use & I think worth the cost at just under £50-00 (you get lifetime updates free). There is also a free Demo version available.

Tabledit is the only one that will play back with the correct notes when pedals and levers are notated, Guitar Pro 8 allows you to notate the pedals and levers but doesn't alter the notes when played back or on the stave (IIRC), it may look nicer when printed out than tabledit though.
